This section lists New Freedom apportionments for fiscal years (FY) 2006 through 2009. SAFETEA-LU authorized the following funding levels for the New Freedom Program:

The tables below list the amounts of FY 2006 and FY 2007 New Freedom funds that were allocated to states and large urbanized areas. New Freedom funds that were appropriated in FY 2006 but not obligated by the end of FY 2008 were included in FTA's FY 2009 apportionment to states and large urbanized areas.
